British Sausages with a Mediterranean Twist from Olive Hill
The Great British banger has been given a Mediterranean make over with the launch of Olive Hill Farm Sausages which taste utterly sensational and have the added bonus of containing at least 30% less saturated fat than other premium pork sausages thanks to a revolutionary new process which replaces the saturated fat with the finest extra virgin olive oil.
The new brand scooped a raft of top gongs at the 2012 Sausage of the Year Awards*, with the Olive Hill Farm Pork and Chorizo Sausage with Olive Oil claiming the ultimate accolade of Overall Champion Banger. Other award winning varieties in the range are the sizzlingly good Olive Hill Farm Pork Sausage for those who like a classic premium pork sausage, and the Olive Hill Farm Pork, Feta & Sundried Tomato Sausage which captures the Mediterranean essence of the brand.
Olive Hill Farm Sausages, from Scan Foods UK, are made using a unique process which reduces the saturated fat content by at least 30% without affecting flavour or juiciness so that unlike other ‘lower fat’ sausages on the market, which can be dry and tasteless, these sausages are mouth-wateringly juicy and bursting with flavour. What’s more, because they contain less saturated fat and water, these sausages don’t shrink during the cooking process – amazingly they retain more than 96% of their original weight. You really do get to eat what you buy, not a reduced version of it! Sporting the Red Tractor symbol, the whole range is made using quality lean British pork shoulder and every sausage contains 80% meat.
This revolutionary production process is owned and patented by Greek company Creta Farms which is launching similar partnerships across Europe.
All three Olive Hill Farm Sausages will be available from Ocado from mid March; they are likely to retail in the region of £3.00 for a 350g pack of six. From 8 April selected Asda stores will be stocking the Olive Hill Farm Pork Sausage and the Olive Hill Farm Pork and Chorizo Sausage with Olive Oil.
