Jamie Oliver announces the opening of new Dublin restaurant
Jamie Oliver has recently announced that he is going to be opening a restaurant in Ireland, specifically he is going to be bringing one of his eateries to Dublin. Mr Oliver, who is 36 years old, said the Italian restaurant is going to be located in the centre of the city and he has described opening a restaurant in Ireland as a dream come true.
In recent years, several other famous chefs including Gary Rhodes have given up on their ventures which expanded into Ireland as there simply wasn’t enough support for them. Often, the restaurants were too expensive for people, especially given the state of Ireland’s economy. Mr Oliver has said that he thinks his restaurant will be different as it is targeted to be a more affordable option.
Starters in the restaurant cost around €6.50 with steaks starting at around €21. It is expected that when the restaurant opens around 75 jobs are going to be created and recruitment for staff has already begun. Mr Oliver expects that the restaurant will be opening in September or perhaps October. Gerry Fitzpatrick has been appointed as the local manager and is going to act as Mr Oliver’s right-hand man in Ireland.
The restaurant is going to span 4500 square feet and it is expected the construction is going to begin shortly. Mr Oliver has said that he is going to be sourcing a lot of food locally in order to do his bit for the local community and support producers in Ireland.
